Erawan Waterfalls Tour

6 Hours

Erawan Waterfalls is one of the most famous natural attractions in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.

It’s located inside Erawan National Park, about 65 km from Kanchanaburi town. The waterfall has 7 tiers, each with turquoise-blue pools where visitors can swim. The top tier is said to resemble the three-headed elephant Erawan from Hindu mythology, which is how it got its name.

Overview

7-tier waterfall:
Each level has a different character some are big pools for swimming, others are smaller cascades.

Emerald green pools:
The water is turquoise in the dry season, crystal-clear and perfect for a swim.

Name origin:
The top tier is said to resemble the head of Erawan, the three-headed elephant from Hindu mythology.

Hiking & Exploring
The full trail is about 1.5 km uphill, taking 1.5–2 hours to reach the 7th tier.
Paths are well-marked but get steeper and more natural (tree roots, rocks) after tier 4.
Many visitors stop at tiers 2–4, where the pools are large and great for swimming.

Fun & Nature
The pools are home to Garra rufa fish (the “doctor fish”) that nibble at your feet—like a free spa treatment!
Wildlife: monkeys, butterflies, and lots of tropical birds.
