Phra That Cave is situated only 8 Km far from the Erawan Waterfall. It is approximately 12 Km beyond the Erawan National Park. Phra That Cave is a very big cave as it is 200 meters wide. There are a lot of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave. And, most of the stalactites and stalagmites are translucent which are so stunning. At the middle of the cave, you will encounter Phra That Buddha image and a statue of an eagle which are made of the sandstone. Before getting inside the cave, visitors need to contact the forest officer first in order to get permission and as well to ask for a guide to navigate you throughout the cave. You need to be at the cave right before 3 pm. Phra That Cave is counted as the highlight of Thailand tourism that nature lovers should not miss!

How to go to Phra That Cave ?

Phra That Cave is located inside the Erawan National Park. And, it is 80 Km far from the center of Kanchanaburi town. Drive on route 3199 and turn left towards Erawan Waterfall for about 20 minutes.

Phra That Cave open everyday 08.00 am – 04.00 pm. It is recommended to arrive before 3 pm. Admission fee adult 300 baht and children 150 baht. You can use same ticket with Erawan Waterfall.

How to go to Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall ?

Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall is located in Srinakarin Dam National Park, about 1 hour (45 km) deep in a valley and it is about 2 hours (110 km) from Kanchanaburi city. There is no public transportation, you can take  private car or use our service travel to Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall by 2 routes as follows.

Route 1: It takes about 2 hours.

Drive on route 3199 from Kanchanaburi city to Tha Kradan around 1 hr and trun left to Erawan National Park. You will pass 3 famous attractions, Erawan Waterfall, Srinakarin Dam and Phra That Cave before reach Huay Mae Kamin Waterfall one more hour.

Route 2: It takes about 4 hours.

Drive on route 3199 and 4041 from  Kanchanaburi city to Si Sawat district and trun left to Huai Mae Khamin Vehicles Crossing (Tha Thongsit) take around 2 hr 30 min.

From here you have to take a Car Ferry across to Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall, which take around 1-2 hours and costs 300-400 baht/car. This route may take longer than Route 1, but you will get to see the beauty of the large reservoir north of the Srinakarin Dam.

The Srinagarindra Dam or Khuean Si Nakharin, is an embankment dam on the Kwai Yai River in Si Sawat District of Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. The purposes of the dam are river regulation and hydroelectric power generation. The dam was named after Princess Srinagarindra.

In the morning, visit Phra That Cave first (2-3 hours) and then return to Erawan Waterfall (3-4 hours). *You can use the same ticket to visit both places. We recommend coming to Srinakarin Dam as the last place in the evening to watch the sunset here.

Erawan National Park (Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติเอราวัณ) is a 343,735 rai or 550 square kilometres. Park in western Thailand in the Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi Province, Amphoe Si Sawat in Tambon Tha Kradan. Founded on August 14, 1975, it was Thailand’s 12th national park.

The major attraction of the park is Erawan Falls, a waterfall named after Erawan, the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. The seven-tiered falls are said to resemble Erawan. There are four caves in the park: Mi, Rua, Wang Badan, and Phrathat. Rising northeast of the waterfall area there is a breast-shaped hill named Khao Nom Nang.
